Whistler Sightseeing / Peak to Peak Gondola
Riding the incredible Peak to Peak Gondola is on
the top of many people's lists when visiting
Whistler. This incredible feat of engineering spans
the distance between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. It
breaks three world records including: highest lift of its kind with
a distance of 436m above the valley floor, longest unsupported span
of 3.024km and it completes the longest lift system in the
World.
Stunning Whistler Views
The views from the Peak to Peak gondola are stunning. On a clear day you will have unobstructed views of the Coast Mountain range including Wedgemount, Mount Currie and Rainbow Mountain. You will also have incredible views of the Fitzsimmons Valley below and in the summer may be able to spot a bear or two!
Everyone can go
The Peak to Peak Gondola is accessible for everyone. You can reach the gondola by taking the Whistler Village Gondola from the village base to the Roundhouse Lodge. This is approximately a 25 minute ride. Once at the Roundhouse Lodge, the Peak to Peak gondola is right there. The journey on the Peak to Peak Gondola is just 11 minutes.
Whistler Mountain Top Dining
Once at the top of Whistler or Blackcomb Mountains there are endless opportunities for activities and adventure. Perhaps you just want a relaxing day soaking up the views and enjoying lunch at one of the mountain top restaurants. Fine dining is available at Steeps Grill in the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain. Enjoy full service dining, locally sourced food and fine BC wines. On Blackcomb Mountain you can enjoy fine dining and incredible views at Christine's. There are also casual menu options available at the Roundhouse Lodge and Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb.
Hiking on Whistler Blackcomb
The Peak to Peak Gondola provides access to
an amazing network of alpine hiking trails. There
are over 50km of hiking trails spread over 19 trails. Popular
trails include the High Note Trail which offers stunning views of
Cheakamus Lake and Black Tusk. On Blackcomb Mountain poplar trails
include the Marmot Trail and the Lakeside Loop. Other
activities include bear viewing, ecology tours and evening mountain
top bbq's.
Sightseeing tickets are available at Whistler Blackcomb guest relations, located at the base of Whistler Mountain. Tickets include a ride up the Whistler Village Gondola and access to the Peak to Peak Gondola which connects you between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. You can have unlimited rides on the Peak to Peak Gondola for the day.
