Terry Fox Run
Posted: Friday, September 14, 2012
The Terry Fox Run is an event held every year in mid-September to honour the late Terry Fox. Terry was a young 22 year old man who vowed to run across Canada on a prosthetic limb to raise awareness for cancer research. Terry would never reach his goal of running across Canada due to the spread of the disease throughout his body. Every year we gather to continue Terry's work and raise money for cancer research.
Join us this Sunday, September 16 outside of the Four Seasons Resort Whistler to participate in this year's event. Participants can choose to run, walk, ride, wheel or rollerblade their way through the 4.2KM or 7.2KM course. Donations will be accepted throughout the day will all the proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Research Society.
If you or someone you know is looking to participate in this year's event they are asked to show up for 10AM registration at the Four Seasons Resort Whistler. The race will begin at 11AM and participants can choose to compete in the 4.2KM or 7.2KM course. The event is free to participate in however it is asked that you provide any donation you feel comfortable giving to go towards this great cause.
