Canadian National BBQ Championships

Dusty's Bar & Grill will play host to the 2012 Canadian National BBQ Championships. Join us August 3 - 5 for three days of Grilling galore. The event is set to kick off with a soft opening Friday night featuring an introduction class to competitive BBQ judging. Saturday and Sunday is when the competition is set to get going. Amateur grillers are on the clock Saturday night; events include the coveted Dusty's Back Yard BBQ Burger Competition. While Sunday is all about the pros as the best BBQr's in Canada and the United States battle it out in 5 different BBQ categories. Of course samples will be available all weekend long so come out and enjoy what is sure to be some of the best BBQ you've ever had. Check out below for the weekend's itinerary.

Friday | August 3

4PM: The Pacific Northwest BBQ Associations is offering an introduction class to competitive BBQ judging.

9PM: Led Zeppilin cover band Whole Lotta Led are set to play at Dusty's. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Saturday | August 4

Saturday's competition is amateur day open to anyone who signed up in advance. These weekend grillers will be competing in 3 different events throughout and for $2000 in cash and prizes.

12PM - 5PM: Throughout the day local band Ruckus Deluxe will be playing.

1PM: Bull's Eye presents the Backyard BBQ Burger Competition. The winner of this event earns the prestigious honour of being featured on Dusty's Burger Menu for a year.

2PM: The C.A.S.I features the International Chili Competition.

3PM: The Budweiser King of the Grill Competition requires contestants to cook their tastiest meat or vegetable based dish.

7PM: Saturday night will also feature a whole pig roast with all the fixens. Tickets are available at the events for $20.

9PM: Live music will go on at 9PM featuring musical group the Matinee. Tickets for the event are $10 and are available at Dusty's.

Sunday - August 5

Sunday night the pros take over and compete in five different BBQ categories throughout the day. Competitors will be grilling for $5000 in cash prizes and for the chance to qualify for the World Championship Invitational Barbecue in Tennessee and World Barbecue Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. Samples will be made available throughout the day so get their early for your chance to taste some world class BBQ. The day's events are listed below.

11AM: Pork butt judging

11:30AM: Ravenswood cork & pork judging

12PM: Beef brisket judging

1PM: Chicken judging

2PM: Ribs judging

4:30PM: Awards will be handed out to competitors in each category.

9PM: David Lee and the Memphis Flash an Elvis tribute band will close out the ceremonies at Dusty's. Tickets are $10 at the door.
