Whistler Zip-lining Tours
Posted: Monday, June 11, 2012
Open year round Whistler ZipTrek offers zip-lining tours to adventure seekers all season long. Rencently named "Whistler's Best Activity Provider" ZipTrek provides tours for the young and old and everyone in between.
What is Zip-lining?
For those
that don't know what zip-lining is; it begins with a series of
metal cables spread throughout a hilly area, beginning at the top
of an incline and ending at the bottom of a hill. From here patrons
are strapped into a safely harness and clipped onto the connecting
cables by a certified instructor. Once clipped in gravity simply
takes over and you begin to cruise down the line until you get to
another instructor at the bottom of the line. Various lines usually
connect one after another making different courses or routes down
the hill.
ZipTrek Whistler
ZipTrek Whistler has been based in the resort town since
summer 2002 and has been providing unforgettable
opportunities to explore Whistler's beautiful back country ever
since. Take in the awesome views from the treetop observation
platforms and explore the local forestry on the ground-based trails
and various creeks and bridges. When it come to zip-lining simply
lift up your feet and reach speeds of up to 80 km/hr
(50mph) as you cruise down the side of a Whistler
Mountain.

The Eagle Tour begins in the middle of the forest and takes you all the way back to the Whistler Village. This tour features 5 ziplines, 4 treetop bridges and takes between 2.5 - 3 hours.
