Reasons to Visit This Spring!
Posted: Thursday, May 24, 2012
Beyond the explosion of colour and blue-sky days, there are a lot of reasons to visit Whistler and the Adara Hotel for a fantastic spring getaway. Here's a few:
1. The Sea-to-Sky Highway Views
If you're lucky enough to live within driving distance, getting to Whistler is half the fun. The new, improved Sea-to Sky highway is a pleasure to drive and affords fantastic water and mountain views.
2. You Can Get Your Fill with 'Dine In Whistler'
Dine In Whistler makes it easy to try out some of BC's top restaurants including Araxi, La Rua and the Bearfoot Bistro. From April 23 to June 28, restaurants throughout the resort offer specially priced three-course meals from $19 to $49.
3. The Peak to Peak's all about sightseeing
The Whistler Peak 2 Peak gondola opens up the alpine to sightseers on both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains starting May 28. The 11-minute, 4.4 km trip makes it easy to explore the more than 50 km of scenic hiking trails. Amazing vistas and a good chance you'll spot a bear in the forest below - bring a camera.
4. The ice is off the lakes
Alta, Green and Lost lakes are great places to canoe and kayak. Boat rentals are available from Backroads Whistler located at Lakeside Park at the south end of Alta Lake.
5. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is open again
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is home terrain to some of the best mountain bikers in the world yet features trails that are perfect for beginner and intermediate riders.
6. The golf season starts up
Comfortable temperatures and crowd-free fairways make golfing at any of Whistler's three golf courses a pleasure during the spring. Plus you'll get a break on green fees.
7. Return of The Farmer's Market
Every Sunday the walkways of the Upper Village turn into an epic farmer's market featuring local, organic produce, baked goods and arts and crafts beginning June 16. The Whistler Farmer's Market is a great place for a casual breakfast or lunch.
