The Whistler Mountain Bike Park will be opening for the season on May 18. The bike park is considered to be the top downhill mountain bike in the world. Stay at the Adara Whistler Hotel this summer and experience why Whistler is a mountain bike Mecca.
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park first opened in 1998. It now offers more than more than 250 kilometres (155 miles) of lift-serviced trails. There are three chair lifts which are adapted for biking as well as three skills centres designed for all abilities, two jump park areas, a dual slalom, giant slalom course and a new pump track.
Trails for all ability levels
The bike park could appear intimidating to beginners, but in fact there a variety of trails to suit all ability levels. Trails are clearly labeled by level of difficulty ranging from green runs for beginners to blue, black and double black diamond trails for intermediate and advanced riders. Popular green trails include Crabapple, Upper Easy Does It and After Atlantis. Blue trails include Lower Angry Pirate and Heart of Darkness. One of the most famous trails on the bike park is A-Line which is rated black or difficult. For the most experienced riders double black diamond runs include Drop in Clinic and Captain Safety.
Women's Night
Whistler Mountain Bike Park offers a range of coaching and skill improvement courses for both adults and children. One of the most popular courses is the women's night. These clinics are held every Monday and Wednesday evening and include an après session at the GLC bar after. There are packages available that include rentals, lift tickets and bike guides.
Another popular choice is the daily clinic Bike Park 101. This clinic offers the completely novice mountain biker a chance to learn downhill technical riding skills while exploring the bike park with a qualified guide.

Peak Zone - Top of the World
This summer you can experience the first alpine-specific single track trail. This new trail is expected to open in mid July. You will ride the Peak Chairlift to the top of Whistler Mountain where you will get a 360 degree view of the surrounding glaciers, lakes and peaks.
