Whistler is a certainly a unique ski resort in the world for a number of reasons including the incredible terrain, great snow and the Peak 2 Peak gondola. What makes Whistler also unique is its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Whistler is only approximately 60kms away from Howe Sound.

1. Sushi Village
Sushi Village is the most well known sushi restaurant in Whistler and rightly so. Since 1984, Sushi Village has been serving up fresh and delicious food to visitors and locals alike. The restaurant is famous for its sake margarita and also the incredible mango caterpillar roll featuring mango, shrimp tempura and unagi wrapped with thinly sliced avocados. Sushi Village is a great gathering place for groups of friends in the private tatami rooms. Sushi Village is a must do for your next visit to Whistler.
2. Sachi Sushi
Sachi Sushi is tucked away on Main Street in the Summit Lodge Hotel. This is also a favourite restaurant for Whistler locals. Make sure you try the Sachi Roll with shrimp tempura, avocado, salmon, scallop and spicy mayo. Sachi Sushi also serves up a great hot pot.
3. Nagomi Sushi
Nagomi Sushi is located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain in Le Chamois Hotel. House specialities include the Nagomi Roll and Red Dragon Menu. There is also a great selection of hot items including yakitori and tsukune.
4. Harajuku Izakaya
Harajuku Izakaya is Whistler's only Izakaya style located restaurant. It is located next to the Fuji Market in the Royal Bank building. This is a great casual restaurant to share drink and food after a day on the slopes. They also have a great selection of Japanese draft beers and fine sakes.
5. Kaze Sushi
Kaze Sushi is hidden away in the Westin Resort and Spa but this is a great find. This small restaurant is intimate and perfect for a romantic dinner. Kaze Sushi specialises in unique Japanese dishes which include tai, blue fin tuna and matsusaka beef.
