Celebrate at the 11th annual Whistler Film Festival and enjoy some incredible early season skiing and riding at the same time! There has never been a better time to visit Whistler. The Whistler Film Festival takes places over 5 days from November 30th to December 4th.
The festival presents over 80 films from Canada and all around the world including premiers, feature films, documentaries, and shorts. There will be over $50,000 in prizes are awarded to film makers, actors, and other film industry participants in nine major categories.
This year for the first time "Whistler Presents" will be hosting outdoor film screenings under the Pavilion at the Whistler Olympic Plaza during the festival. The screenings will be never-before-seen programs of Pixar Shorts. On December 2 and December 3 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, enjoy several of the characters from some the favourite Pixar feature films. These include Cars pals Lightning and Mater and Woody and Buzz from the Toy Story films.
This is a free event which is going to be lots of fun for the entire family. The Whistler Olympic Plaza is an outdoor venue, so dress warmly. There will be covered seating available to the first 1,000 filmgoers on a first come, first serve basis.
Besides the eighty plus film screenings, The Whistler Film Festival offers many other events. There will be an opening gala, a celebrity ski race, parties, tributes to some of the industries great talents, an awards brunch and a closing gala.
The online box office and phone sales are now open for advance ticket sales. The Festival box office opens on November 25 for walk up sales. It is located in the Kiosk directly in front of the Whistler Conference Centre.
