Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival

This Saturday, August 18th
is the 5th annual Canadian Cheese Rolling Championships.
Join us for a day of everything cheese.
Among the events is of course the cheese rolling championships. Watch as participants line up at the top of Base 2 on Whistler Mountain and chase an 11 pound wheel of cheese down the hill. The first person to run, stumble or tumble down the hill to the cheese wheel is declared the winner and receives the honor of being the 2012 Canadian Cheese Rolling Champion.
The cheese rolling event kicks off at 12PM but join us until 4PM for a series of cheese related activities.
Throughout the day different children's activities will be taking place including cheese bowling, uphill races, face painting, balloon animals and much more.
Canadian cheesemakers from all over the country will also be at the event talking cheese with the onlookers and handing out all kinds of cheese samples. Take this chance to sample all types of cheeses and find your new favorite kind.
The Canadian Cheese Rolling Championships takes place at Base 2 on Blackcomb Mountain from 12PM to 4PM.
