2012 Whistler Longboard Festival

If you've never seen or heard of longboarding
imagine a mix between snow-cross meets Formula 1 Racing.
Competitors start at the top of a 1.6 KM paved
road and wind their way down the course in 4 man heats
with the top two riders advancing. This year the event has doubled
in size with a 1 day event taking place on July 12th at Whistler
Olympic park and a 3 day event at the Whistler Sliding Centre from
July 13th to 15th. Spectators are welcome to watch these
extreme athletes as they battle it out for over $5000 in cash and
prizes.
