Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival
Date: Saturday, July 23, 2011
Time: 12noon to 4pm
Where: Blackcomb Mountain Base 2, Whistler
What is Cheese Rolling?? Well it's very simple. An 11 pound wheel of cheese is rolled down a hill and participants chase after the cheese as quickly as possible - lots of tumbling and stumbling involved. The grand prize for the lucky winner who catches the cheese are two Whistler/Blackcomb season ski passes and of course they get to keep the cheese!

Cheese rolling has its origins in England where every year a cheese rolling festival takes place on Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire. The festival takes place at Base 2 on Blackcomb Mountain. There a lots of other events taking place on the day including uphill racing, cheese bowling, cheesy twister, milk a mechanical cow and face painting. A fun day for all the family.
