Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra

A great new event is
happening in Whistler on Saturday November
5th. BC Athletics is pleased to announce
the inaugural Whistler 50 Relay and Ultra which will take place
around the Village Trail. An 'ultra' is a running or sporting
event which is longer than the traditional marathon length of
42.195 kilometres. This ultra is 50 mile (80K) which is an
achievable goal for novice ultra-marathoners. The relay
is an 8-person format, with alternating legs of approximately 12K
and 8K.
This event was previously known as the Haney-to-Harrison 100K 50 mile relay and ultra. It was decided to move the event to Whistler, due to the popularity of the event and safety concerns over the use of a major highway for much of the course.

The day will end with a post-race dance at the Whistler Conference Centre in the evening.
