Get into the Christmas spirit by dressing like Santa for a day. The first 75 dressed in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire will get a free lift ticket!
Coldsmoke Films will be bringing their unique short films to Whistler. Thanks to Mike Douglas and crew at Switchback Entertainment, Coldsmoke has been given the honor of premiering “Super Pillows.” This short film has some of the best pillow skiing you will see all year. In addition, the audience will be treated to ski, snowboard and mountaineering films from around the world. Tickets are $15.00 (Club Shred pricing is $10.50 - available in person at Millennium Place front desk only).
Over summer 2013 Whistler Blackcomb upgraded two popular lifts in the ski resort. Today is the grand opening for the new Harmony Six Express chairlift! Details for the launch of the new Harmony Six Express Chair will be available shortly.
Dogs, family and friends are invited to join Whistler Animals Galore for photos with Santa at the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa. Photos with Santa cost $15, with proceeds from the event going to WAG. The 2014 WAG calendars along with other WAG merchandise will also be available for purchase.
Every Sunday night during winter see a spectacular display of ski and snowboard skill at the legendary Fire & Ice Show in Skiers Plaza. Whistler's best skiers and riders jump and flip through a blazing ring of fire accompanied by fire spinners, a DJ and fireworks display. An electrifying evening of free, live entertainment to watch with family and friends.
Our Season Opener - in the "skate zone" in the blue park, session jumps and rails as a group in a Jam style format. Judges pick top 3 competitors in each class and we watch the video together at the end of the day.
The Funk Hunters are one of Canada’s busiest electronic acts. Armed with 4-turntables, their very own custom synched visuals, and the unique ability to create live mashups and remixes, they seamlessly blend original productions with everything from Hip Hop to House, Glitch Hop to Drum & Bass, and everything funky in between.
Enjoy a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' classic story, 'A Christmas Carol', that will leave you in a festive mood. Reading is in the Fireplace Lounge of the Whistler Public Library. Admission is by donation of one non-perishable item for the Whistler Food Bank.
Head over to Scotia Creek Gallery at Millennium Place where their newest art exhibit entitled Spectrum will brighten the dark days of December. This celebration of colour will have a wide range of works from Urban Graffiti and Contemporary to Abstract Expressionism. Artists who will be showcasing their work (also available for purchase) are; Vanessa Stark, Kris Kupskay, Suzanne Johnston, Victoria Farrand, Lisa Geddes, Chili Thom, Nikkey Dawn, Baz Carolan, Anne Popma and Judy Bourhis.
