Whistler Fall Fishing
Posted: Wednesday, September 19, 2012
Whistler is home to some of the most beautiful outdoor scenery in the world. Flush with magnificent rivers and lakes Whistler is great spot to plan a fishing getaway.
If you're looking to do some fishing this fall than now's the time to visit Whistler. September is the perfect time to fish trout in Whistler's rivers and lakes.
Thanks to the recent salmon spawn loads of trout have made their way up stream to feed off the salmon's eggs. A wide array of trout including bull, rainbow and dolly are occupying Whistler's rivers and lakes.
The best spot to take advantage of the trout fishing is the Birkenhead and Lillooet Rivers. Both of these rivers run through or around the Whistler area providing a number of spots along the shore to do some great fishing. Fly rods are the preferred weapon of choice with egg patterns or flesh flies serving as the best bait.
If you need help planning your fishing adventure to Whistler than the boys at Whistler Fly Fishing or Pemberton Fish Finder are a great local source. You can book a fishing package through them which includes guides, supplies and everything else you need to fish the area, or you can simply pick their brain for local knowledge.
