It’s almost Christmas which means Santa’s making a list and checking it twice. We sat around over a cup of hot cocoa, snuggled up in front of a crackling fire at the Adara, and wrote our own Whistler Christmas wish list. We’ve been nice so we’re hoping that a couple of things that we’ve been eyeing this holiday season will turn up on December 25th. Curious to know what we’ve been dreaming of as the halls were decked and the tree was decorated? Here’s the Adara’s Whistler Christmas wish list!

Snow

Instead of sugar plums dancing before our eyes, it’s been all snowflakes since opening day. Come on Saint Nick, we want snow and not just 5cms. We’re talking 15cms or if you’re feeling generous, how about 25cms?

The Alpine Opening On A Powder Day

We’ll wake up early and wait in the lift line on a powder day but in addition to sinking our skis into all that fresh snow, is any of the alpine chairs opening just as we get there. Just a little light to turn green on after a huge dump of snow. Is this too much to ask Santa Claus?

Fresh Turns

That untouched snow is the reason we get up so early in the morning during and immediately after snow storms but it’s only worth it if you can get fresh, untracked turns. Okay, maybe we are exaggerating a bit but we want to alternate who drops first with our closest friends into the freshest of runs this Christmas!

An Après That Goes All Night Long

When the mountain closes, you know where to find us. Still in our ski boots and dancing at one of the local establishments. This year, instead of packing it in around dinner time, we want to dance in our ski gear well into the wee hours of the morning.

No Lift Lines

Dear Mr. Claus, we would really like to go up the mountain after a fresh snowfall and ski to our heart’s content. This means lap after lap on any of the chairs and with no lift lines at all. Just ride up, ski down, and repeat.

Friends On A Powder Day

There’s nothing quite like sharing a powder day with your family or friends. And for Christmas, we would like to do away with the saying, ‘ There are no friends on a powder day,” and instead share the joy of endless new snow and runs galore with those that count.

A Fresh Tracks Mountain Breakfast

Starting your ski day off on the right foot is crucial and there’s no better way than a buffet breakfast featuring eggs, bacon, pastries, yogurt and fruit on top of the mountain. And did we mention that you can also upload early with a Fresh Tracks ticket? Maybe we could get a few of these tickets in our stockings?

And for our last and final wish on our Whistler Christmas Wish List, we would like to see all of you at the Adara during the winter season! Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
