If you think the excitement for the winter season is unparalleled, think again. Spring in Whistler is a magical time due to the fact that you can do all the activities. Yes, we said all! Skiing is still available, golfing starts and so does biking- There is an abundance of things to do in Whistler during the spring season. So get ready to ready to maximize your days participating in as many activities as you can!

Biking

When you think of biking in Whistler, the first thing that may come to mind is the Whistler Bike Park. The park is set to open on May 19th but before you indulge in chair-lift assisted laps, hop on a pedal bike and explore the surrounding trail networks. From the middle of April onwards, Lost Lake and the Valley Trail that can be ridden. As the snow melts further, more trails open up at lower elevations. If you are looking to find out what is open, contact one of the many local bike shops. In addition to knowing exactly what trails are currently rideable, they will be able to give you thorough instructions to help you find the dirt you’ve been craving all winter long.

Golf

Whistler is just as famous for it’s golfing as it is for its skiing. There are 4 championship golf courses that were designed by four of the world’s top designers and they all have a beautiful mountain backdrop. Come to play just one or try your hand (or swing!) at playing all four. The courses begin to open around the end of April and carry on opening into May. Don’t be fooled by the dates set- being located in the mountains means that they are subject to mountain weather and the opening is dependent upon that.

Big Sky Golf Club: April 29th

Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club: May 5th

Nicklaus North Golf Course: May 13th

Whistler Golf Club: May 12th

Skiing

Whistler Mountain sees it’s last day of winter operations on April 24th but Blackcomb Mountain is open until May 22nd. During this time you can expect to see sunny days and even spring powder on the slopes. Make sure you account for the change in hours after the closing of Whistler Mountains. Spring operations are from 10am until 4pm.
